Harlow

9/12/19: Please welcome Harlow! She was picked up as a stray by Carroll County Animal Control and when no one came looking for her she was able to join the rescue. She needs to vaccinated and spayed. Unfortunately, she is heartworm positive. Once she recovers from her spay surgery, she will start her four week heartworm treatment. She should be cleared for adoption once she completes her heartworm treatment.

10/17/19: Harlow completed her heartworm treatment today and has been cleared for adoption!

Harlow’s vet bills to date are $2, 232.76!  This is for an exams, vaccinations, dry eye and eye ulcer test, ear infection exam and medications, skin scrape and skin infection medications, pain medications, surgery (for spay, tumor removal, teeth cleaning, decayed tooth extraction, soft palate shortened, saccules removed), boarding and heartworm treatment.  Please help us with vet bills by donating below.

Lucy Anne

9/20/19: Please welcome Lucy Anne! She was found wondering a neighborhood and taken in by a kind family. Her owner was located and scheduled to pick her up, but he never showed and stopped all communication with the family that found her. The family that found her had her vaccinated and spayed. Unfortunately, she is heartworm positive. She will start her four week heartworm treatment very soon. She should be cleared for adoption once she completes her heartworm treatment.

Pancake Patty

10/10/19: Please welcome Pancake Patty! Her owner was having some issues with her not wanting to get into her room or crate and did not feel comfortable with her around their new baby. They decided it was best to find her a new home, so they reached out to us to help. She is already spayed but needs to be vaccinated, have her palate shortened and have entropion surgery on her eyes. She is also overweight and will be put on a diet.

10/15/19: Pancake Patty had her surgery today and all went well. She has shown no cage aggression at all since coming into rescue.

Bella Anne

10/5/19: Please welcome Bella Anne! She joins us from Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter. She is battling an upper respiratory infection at the moment. Once that clears up, she will be spayed and have entropion surgery on both eyes. She has been diagnosed with dry eye and will need prescription eye drops for life to manage it.

10/17/19: Bella Anne had her surgery today and all went well!

Queen B – Adoption Pending

10/14/19: Please welcome Queen B. Her owner was evicted from their home and left her behind. She found herself at Douglas County Animal Control and was able to join us when her mandatory stray hold was up. She needs to be vaccinated, spayed, have her palate shortened and have a hernia repaired. But first we are treating her for a severe urinary tract infection. She is also overweight and will be put on a diet.

Burrito – Medical Hold

11/11/19: Please welcome Burrito! He was found as a stray and turned over to Dekalb County Animal Shelter. When no one came looking for him he was able to join the rescue. He needs to be vaccinated, neutered, have his palate shortened, have his saccules removed and have his nostrils widened. He is extremely underweight, has an upper respiratory infection and his heartworm positive. We are working on getting some weight on him. Once that clears up, he will have surgery. Once he recovers from surgery, he will start his four weeks of heartworm treatment.

Buster Brown

11/3/19: Please welcome Buster Brown! His owner is no longer able to care for him, so they asked us to help. He needs to be vaccinated, neutered and have his cherry eyes repaired on both eyes. He is very sweet but a also nervous so he will have a full exam for eyes, skin, ears once he is under anesthesia for his surgery this week. We are told he has been living outside so he will need some time to adjust to living indoors.

11/7/19:  Buster Brown has his surgery today and all went well.  He was neutered, had his nostrils widened, had his teeth cleaned, and had both cherry eyes fixed.

Breezy – Adoption Pending

11/2/19: Please welcome Breezy! She was turned over to us by her owners. Apparently, she has been living in the back yard all day for some time now but was able to spend the nights inside the house. She needs to be vaccinated and spayed. She has been diagnosed with dry eye and will start taking daily prescription eye drop. She appears to have a mineral deposit on her eye. She will see the ophthalmologist soon to have it looked at. She has tested positive for Lyme and will be on medication for this over the next few weeks. It appears that she may have recently had a litter of puppies.

11/13/19:  Breezy was spayed today and went well!

11/25/19:  Breezy saw the ophthalmologist today.  Dr Andrew confirmed she does have a mineral deposit.  It does not impair her vision much and there is no anatomic reason for it.  We will try her on a non-steroid eye drop in attempts to reduce the dimensions of the mineral deposit.  We will also switch her dry eye medication from cy…
